Welcome - who am I??
My name is Andrew, although many people prefer to call me Andy.
Before taking up semi-retirement following the death of my mum in September 2002, I worked as a Project Manager for
BancTec - an American owned Computer Systems and integration company. I was associated with them from 1972 - working through from being an assembler (PAL 3) programmer to Systems Analysis (with particular expertise in OCR page reading applications and document (item) processing) to Project management and finally took a keen interest in Project Management, development methodologies and quality matters.
BancTec Ltd was part of a major US based company
(BancTec Inc) based in Dallas,Texas and whilst working I was involved with major installations in UK, Ireland, Yugoslavia, Czechoslovakia, Poland, Spain, Belgium, Germany, Malta, Hungary, France, Holland, Sweden, Norway, Denmark and Jordan.
Now that I have discovered the joys of not being in full time working, I have taken up flying - gaining a microlight pilot's licence and buying (and selling) my own microlight, obtained a PADI Open Water scuba diving qualification, bought a bungalow in Cyprus and am generally enjoying life without working ....
